We all know Akon  is a famous singer in the world.  His name is Aliaune Damala Badara Thiam. His nick name is Akon. Akon born on 16th April in 1973. He not only a singer but also a songwriter , philanthropist record producer and a businessman. In 2004 Akon rose to prominence following the release of “Locked up”. “Locked up” is the first single of his debut album trouble. His second album is “Konvicted” .  “Konvicted” was released on November 14, 2006. It included with Eminem Snoop Dogg and Styles p. “Konvicted” came  at two on Billboard 200, sold286,000 copies in the first week. Only after six weeks this album sold more than one million records in the U.S and more than 1.3 million worldwide.  This album “Konvicted” got three take three nomination for the Grammy Award in two categories.  The best contemporary Album for “Konvicted” album and the best Rap collaboration for “Smack That” and “I Wanna Love You”. Aliaune is the first solo artist spots simultaneously on the Billboard Hot 100 charts ‘twice’ to hold both the number one and two .  He also worked with many performers like Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones, Dr. Dre, Eminem, R. Kelly, Diddy, Lil Wayne, Bone Thugs -N-Harmony, Whitney Houston, Gwen Stefani, Lady Gaga and many more artists.  Akon has five Germany Awards nominations. In 2010 Akon grossed $21 million, in 2009 $20 million, in 2008 $12 million according to Forbes.
Akon’s next album released on December 2 in 2008. This album spawned four songs they are “Right Now”, “I’m So Paid”, “Beautiful”, “We Don’t Care”. “I’m So Paid”  featuring with Lil Wayne and Young Jeez, “Beautiful” featuring Kardinal Offishall and Colby O’Donis . “We Don’t Care” failed to charted significantly in many countries, reaching only 61 in the UK and 91 in Australia. “Freedom’s” first week sold were  110,900 copies and it has sold 510,000 copies in the US.
Akon released a tribute song called “Cry Out Of Joy” after unexpected death of The King Of Pop Michael Jackson.  In the end of Jackson’s life Michael Jackson & Akon were close friends.
David Guetta collaborated with Akon in “Sexy Bitch” , a 1st house track by Akon and has been a “summer anthem” across the global reaching No. 1 in more than 6 countries and charting at 5 on the Billboard Hot 100. It is featured on Guetta’s One Love album. It is his 19th Top 20 hit worldwide.
Akon announced  “Stadium” as their fourth album  in late 2009 . This album release in the first quarter of 2010.  The album’s lead single , “Angle”, was released to US radio stations on September 14, 2010, and on September 27, 2010 was released as a single. French producer David Guetta produced this album.   Akon  travelled  to Jamaica to work with Damian, Julian & Stephen Marley.

Akon started his new record label Kon Live Distribution under Interscope Records. Ray Lavender was his first signed artist. He was featured on Gwen Stefani’s latest album, “The Sweet Escape”.
