AY.COM vs Terry G + Naija News + Tuface idibia's 10th Anniversary pictures

I've asked this before and I am going to ask again. If you feature in someone's song, do you have a right to perform your part of that song in your private shows? I heard R.Kelly perform his part of the hit song 'Hotel' with Cassidy at the Thisday Music Festival in Abuja. I've heard Timaya perform his part of Jay Martin's 'Good or Bad' in shows. So many artistes do it, but is it allowed? Especially when the original owner of the song doesn't want you performing it?

I'm sure you have all heard about the drama going on between AY.Com and Terry G. If you haven't, read the story below, as written by City People Magazine.

AY.COM vs Terry G

Terry G

AY.Com

In a recent show at the University of Lagos, Nigeria Hip Hop singer and ‘Pass me your love’ crooner, AY.Com, knelt and pleaded with Unilag students while on stage to stone Terry G whenever he visits their school to perform his song. AY.com who had been in battle of words with his close friend and producer, Terry G, over the copyright of the song, told the students that he was the one financed the ‘Pass me your love’ video which cost him N1.4million. He also said the costume worn by Terry Gin the video was provided by him. He buttressed that despite the huge amount he invested in the song, Terry G, has been the one reaping the benefits. The singer said he has warned Terry G several times not to perform hissong in shows anymore, but Terry G, refused to yield to his request.
